Ngā Toa is a discipleship programme which focuses on further journeying with young people who show interest in learning more about Jesus.
Young people who has an existing relationship with a youth leader at TOH can be referred from their leader onto Ngā Toa.
Every Wednesday morning through the school terms, the group of young people are picked up from their homes before school and taken to where Ngā Toa will be held. During the session the young people have breakfast together, share their thoughts in discussions lead by one of the youth leaders and then dropped off back to school before the first bell rings.
On one Sunday morning every month, the group gets an opportunity to go to a different church together, this is to give them an understanding of different approaches to ‘church’ and religion, which we discuss and share in an open and un-biased way, simply journeying with them to help them discover themselves and to help develop their spiritual well-being.
Youth Work manager, Jade Beaman, heads this programme with support from other youth workers who volunteer their time to help out.
