Taiohi Tū

Taiohi Tū means – standing up and doing what is right for our Tinana. Taiohi Tū is a fitness-based programme that is currently being run in and out of schools. Both young and old people have benefitted from this programme so far, all attendees coming from different backgrounds with different abilities and different goals. The programme targets not only physical wellbeing but also the mental, spiritual and emotional sides of Hauora. We have found that introducing exercise into the life of our rangatahi can mean a better engagement and being more switched on in the classroom as well as a healthier mental wellbeing too. Programme Includes: Taonga Taakaro (traditional Māori games) High Intensity Interval Training (box fit, cross fit, hill workouts and sprint training) This is all delivered by Youth Worker/Sports Mentor and qualified Personal Trainer – Ella Hutchinson.
