With the sound of christmas songs being played in the malls, the scent of fresh strawberries being cut for festive pavlova’s and the slapping of jandals on the pavements around the city, 2015 must be drawing to a close.
At the end of each year, Te Ora Hou go out with a bang with their end of year celebration event inviting young people, whanau, supporters, funders, partners and friends to celebrate the young people and their successes. This year was the first year the event was moved into a bigger venue, using the Northcity auditorium and cafe, which proved to be a great change, providing a bigger space for the growing attendance numbers over the last couple of years and a fantastic eating space, for those who attend are always fed before leaving.
The events main draw is the 90 minute stage show that Te Ora Hou put on, where the audience get to celebrate young people receiving awards, hear the journey of speakers who come through different programmes and services that Te Ora Hou provide, be entertained by a funny MC, listen to waiata and haka performed by both young people and staff – and get a bit of an insight into all of the great things that Te Ora Hou have been up to over the year.
Here are the video’s that were shown over the night (YouTube Playlist):
As they do each year, Te Ora Hou will close their offices from Friday 18th December and re-open in the new year on Monday 18th January.
