Wrap Around SW

Wrap Around social work is provided by the Community & Social Work team with referrals through the Social Work Manager. It exists to ensure all whānau and young people involved in Te Ora Hou programmes and TKW are linked into appropriate support services to empower, educate and advocate for their particular needs, supported by a member of the Social Work Team.

Social Work supports provided are:

• Youth Work Mentoring with a trained Youth Worker
• Whānau Ora support with a Community/Social Worker
  • Whānau transformation and empowerment
• Parenting support through Building Awesome Whānau Toolbox
• Youth Justice support for young people/whānau navigating FGC, Youth Court and Rangatahi Court systems
• Support with financial issues: Work and Income, IRD, Youth Services (Youth and Young Parents benefit), Budgeting
• Advocacy support for psychosocial issues that affect Māori young people and their whānau including:
  • Counselling services
  • Health services
  • Education/training
  • Housing
