Established in Ōtautahi in 1983, Te Ora Hou has been committed to developing relationships, creating spaces, and empowering urban rangatahi and whānau on their journey of tamariki tū rangatiratanga. Our role is not to be another service, program, or activity provider but to invest in what makes a genuine difference in our community. At the heart of what we do is Te Mauri, our DNA, and TOHATOHA, an indigenous approach to people development that shapes all we do.

Empowering the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow, is guided by Te Mauri o Te Ora Hou, our deeply and genuinely held values: Tangata Whenua, Karaitiana, Rangatahi Whānau Hapori, Whanaungatanga, Ākonga, Mahi Tika, and Ohaoha which reflect our beliefs that inform and weave our commitment to Māori communities and future generations.
Te Ora Hou Aotearoa is a network of centres in Whangārei, Te Tairāwhiti, Whanganui, Pōneke, and Ōtautahi. Together, we empower rangatahi, whānau, and hapori through community-led, culturally grounded experiences that foster growth, connection, and leadership.
Our kaimahi at Te Ora Hou are our greatest asset. We are blessed to have a team of people with diverse skills, strengths and experiences who have a huge amount of experience in Indigenous youth and whānau development. For these guys it is not just a job but a passion.
