Te Ora Hou Ōtautahi

At Te Ora Hou Ōtautahi, we’re proud to offer spaces that embody our values of manaakitanga (care and hospitality), akoako (learning together), and tūhonohono (connection and collaboration).

Whether you’re hosting a hui, leading a workshop, or organising an event, our flexible spaces are ready to support the diverse needs of our Ōtautahi whānau and community.

Te Iho
o Te Ora

Te Iho o Te Ora is the heart of our site, a whare designed for connection, reflection, and wairua. Modelled on a traditional wharenui, it includes a large main gathering area, the Manawa Ora breakout room, and modern bathrooms with showers. The whare can host overnight stays with thirty mattresses and two folding beds provided, along with fitted sheets. Kai is not permitted in the main space but can be eaten in Manawa Ora. Shoes should be removed before entering the main whare. A kitchenette equipped for around thirty people is available, along with a projector, laptop, whiteboard, and speakers for hui and wānanga. The building uses electronic locking, so access instructions are provided on arrival. As with all areas of Te Ora Hou, the site is alcohol free, smoke free, and vape free.

Hine
Atawhai

Hine Atawhai is a beautifully refurbished historic chapel used for meetings, dining, retreats, conferences, and community events. The main area comfortably seats between fifty and sixty people and includes a kitchenette with an oven, fridge freezer, instant hot water, and crockery for up to sixty guests. Microwaves and toasters are available on request. The space includes fifty chairs, eight tilt-top tables, a sixty-five inch smart TV, Bluetooth audio, a mobile whiteboard, and modern heating and air purification. Kai is welcome in Hine Atawhai, and shoes may be worn indoors. All furniture must remain within the building unless approved by staff. Hine Atawhai, like the entire Te Ora Hou site, is alcohol free, smoke free, and vape free. WiFi details and parking guidance can be provided by our team.

Mauri
Ora

Mauri Ora is the central kai and manaaki space of Te Ora Hou, designed for preparing, cooking, and sharing meals in a warm and welcoming environment. It features a fully equipped commercial kitchen with gas hobs, ovens, microwaves, a large double-door fridge, dishwasher, steriliser, and a commercial coffee machine. The adjoining lounge and dining area includes comfortable seating, an eight-seat dining table, and access to a spacious sunny deck that is ideal for gatherings and shared kai. Kai is welcome throughout this space, and shoes may be worn inside. A wall-mounted smart TV, modern heating, and indoor and outdoor power are available for use. As with the rest of the site, Mauri Ora is alcohol free, smoke free, and vape free. WiFi access and parking information can be provided on arrival.
